While cerebral palsy, in general, refers to a group of nervous disorders that affects motor control in individuals, mild cerebral palsy specifically refers to a type of cerebral palsy where there is only slight impairment. In this type of disease, the brain damage is simply not that severe. In fact, the symptoms of cerebral palsy in these types of cases may not even be that recognizable.
As a result, you, and even doctors, may not realize that a child does in fact have a case of mild cerebral palsy. In many cases, parents do not recognize that there is a problem until the child begins to learn to read – and has difficulty with this task.

There are very subtle symptoms that may indicate that a child has a mild case of cerebral palsy. For instance, you may notice that your child may have difficulty lifting heavier items – while he or she can draw a picture with no difficulty.
