The mother of a teenager who was killed in a car crash is filing a lawsuit against a restaurant where the other driver drank too much before the crash. Ercilia Velora Norrid is seeking $7 million in her wrongful death and negligence lawsuit against Wingsport LP, the parent company of Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar.

On Oct. 14, Electra High School students Adreanna Norrid and Courtney Mengwasser were killed when the car they were riding in smashed into a pickup truck that was traveling in their lane, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Their friend who was driving the other car was seriously injured.

The other driver, Michael Nason, was killed in the crash which occurred on a narrow rural road near Electra. His passenger was injured in the crash.

According to the lawsuit, employees of Buffalo Wild Wings in Wichita Falls, served Nason too many alcoholic beverages that evening. It also claims that the employees did not have the proper Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission training and certification cards. The lawsuit claims that the company had a policy which encouraged employees to ignore guidelines put in place for serving alcohol to customers and allow them to drive home.

The lawsuit alleges that Adreanna Norrid’s mother had suffered past and future mental anguish, loss of companionship, funeral expenses and other damages. The lawsuit also names the estate of Michael D. Nason, Nason Holding Co, Nason Operating Co and Nason Services.
