09 Mar Dallas Gas Company Explosion Risks Injury and Illness
Southwest Industrial Gases, Inc in downtown Dallas had several explosions that prompted police evacuated businesses and residents within a half mile of the explosion and closed two nearby freeways.
Tanks of acetylene fuel and other materials could be seen exploding and throwing large pieces of shrapnel throughout the area near the I-30 and I-35 interchange, and both highways were shut down in the area.
The risk not only includes people in the immediate area, but the fumes from the explosion could affect residents for miles.
