23 Jul Semi Accidents In the News
More semi-truck accidents to report. First, a two vehicle accident has had the eastbound lanes of I-4 near Longwood closed for several hours. Florida troopers said that an SUV collided with a semi truck and ejected one person from the vehicle. There were multiple victims with minor injuries and at least one person died. The eastbound lanes of I-4 were closed because the tractor trailer spilled its fuel all over the roadway.
In other news, police are withholding the identity of the 71-year-old driver of a semi-truck that struck several vehicles on Interstate 75 this week, killing a 19-year old and injuring several others. Kara Laraivee was killed in the accident when a semi-truck struck her Pontiac Grand Am around 8:40 a.m. on Monday. Four other people were injured in the crash but sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The semi-truck was southbound in the center lane when it struck two vehicles and then slammed into Kara Larivee’s car.
