11 Jul Tractor Trailer Accident on 820 Kills One
One person has been killed and two others have been injured today in a fiery wreck on Loop 820. A witness who saw the event said that a cement truck rear-ended a Nissan car and the car lost control. This caused the cement truck to slam into a tanker truck in the westbound lanes near Blue Mound Road. The truck drivers were able to make it out before the whole wreck ignited.
All westbound lanes of Loop 820 were closed as a result of the accident and only one eastbound lane was open as of 2:00 p.m. The investigation of the accident while most likely keep the highway shut down for most of this afternoon.
