08 Jul Ramp Reopens in Daytona Beach after Tractor Trailer Accident
A ramp that funnels traffic from Interstate 4 onto northbound Interstate 95 reopened on Monday night after a tractor-trailer accident shut it down for most of the day. The highway was closed just after 11 a.m. when a big rig carrying concrete barriers overturned, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Officials hoped to reopen the ramp by mid-afternoon but it stayed closed through 4 p.m. and into the early evening, said spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Miller.
“I think he may have been going a little too fast,” Miller said.
The Driver of the tractor trailer was not seriously injured.
Every year, tractor trailers cause numerous injuries and even deaths as the result of accidents.
