07 Mar Car Accident Kept Rangers’ Blalock out of Spring Training Lineup March 4
Hank Blalock, Texas Rangers third-baseman, suffered minor neck injuries and whiplash after his vehicle was rear-ended while stopped at an intersection near Phoenix, Ariz. March 3. Soreness kept him out of the Spring Training lineup for the March 4 game against the Diamondbacks. His wife Misty and 3-year-old son Trey were in the vehicle but did not suffer any injuries. Rangers’ manager Ron Washington took Blalock off the slate as designated hitter in order to give him time to recover.
