13 Mar Tractor Trailer Crash in Dallas Kills Two
Residents living along Interstate 635 in Dallas between Midway and Marsh were awakened by the sound of a loud crash at about 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, March 12. A small passenger vehicle ran under a tractor trailer truck on the Westbound side of the freeway, with both vehicles ending up on the shoulder. The names of the two victims were not released as of 8:30 a.m. Investigators remained at the scene through the morning rush hour, backing up Dallas traffic for miles.
While the cause of the accident has not been determined, many accidents avoiding semi trucks are the result of reckless driving, poor truck maintenance, driver fatigue from long hours with little rest, or other issues on behalf of semi truck drivers. These crashes are far too common and many drivers are not aware of the risks until it’s too late.
