Zelnorm Side Effects & Recall Lawsuit
Zelnorm also known as tegaserod maleate is a prescription medication used to treat Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). It has been recalled by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.
The Zelnorm recall was issued due to recent studies linking the drug to an increased risk of adverse cardiovascular events including Heart Attacks, Strokes and Angina Pectoris.
In addition to serious cardiovascular injuries, some are investigating other gastrointestinal injuries such as Intestinal Ischemia, Colonic Ischemia, Ischemic Colitis, Dead Bowel, Ulcerative Colitis and Chron's Disease.
