Two semi truck drivers were arrested in connection with the fatal crash this past week. Melissa Sandoval died last Thursday morning after her car was struck twice and forced into the median by a semi truck, which was also heading north. Sandoval's car then crashed into the rear trailer of another semi truck.

Sandoval was not wearing her seat belt and was ejected from her car. She died at the scene. The driver of the northbound semi truck was booked into Utah County Jail on suspicion of reckless endangerment. 43-year-old Marcus Winzer had also exceeded federal limits and driven for too long without stopping. It's worth noting that one of the drivers would not have even faced charges, but his company made him take a chemical test that tested positive for marijuana.

Another tractor trailer accident on Interstate 77 in Bland County tied up traffic for most of the morning. Officials say that a pick-up truck hydroplaned over a median and was struck by a tractor trailer headed in the opposite direction. The semi then crossed into the northbound lanes and tipped over. The driver, 23 year old Jonathon Rotenberry was injured in the crash.
